Nice, though keep in mind it's referring to MPEG-4 Part 2, aka DivX or Xvid. Not H.264 (aka AVC or MPEG-4 Part 10)

@wolf480pl I don't quite vividly remember Xvid since H.264 was moee in vogue by the time I started sailing the seven seas, but I kinda wondered why it was in vogue back in the day when it wasn't much better than MPEG-2

@norm I remember watching movies in Xvid that my dad downloaded, and they were okay.

But I also tried compressing a screen recording with Xvid in... 2010-ish? H.264 was probably already widespread but I wasn't aware of it, and I don't remember it being an option in whatever software I was using :/

@norm maybe it's more that I just had no clue how to set compression settings so that the video would look good

@wolf480pl I remember using Xvid for screencaps with Fraps or something similar, though it wasn't long before I found out about h.264 for that
