@stefan gaming-wise, it's largely kernel anticheats that have been the remaining pain point (which may or may not be a big deal depending on what games are played)
productivity, it really depends. Video production is still kind of a mess from what I've heard
@norm production-wise its really a case of "how much of your life have you sold off to adobe yet?" Oppurtunity cost to pick a whole other software and workflow is just very huge when you are doing that stuff professionally/for a living
@stefan yeah I'm kinda glad I've never really bought into the whole adobe ecosystem. It does kinda suck that they haven't made inroads into linux, but it's also understandable.
@norm they just do not give an f anyway seemingly. But yeah when you work professionally it will very much depend on what you are taught say at school or at work really.
Thats why adobe and say microsoft are big on sponsoring students and stuff. You really tend to bind people to you that way.
Sadly schools focuse more on doing stuff on one software as opposed to teaching more foundations and stuff. But its understandable.
@stefan nothing like enticing people into your ecosystem with freebies
reminds me of the github student bundle thing that I had in uni, ended up not using most of it (though the digitalocean credits did help with starting me on self hosting shit)
