@novenary Yeah i guess I could do that

@novenary I follow the dev branch so it's easier for me to build from source personally

I guess I could have just not build iceshrimp with AOT, since it seem that build process does use a lot of memory, but i do kinda like speed

ok seems like the swapfile really helped with not causing an instant crash and reboot of the pi 4

gonna test if using a regular swapfile will do the trick instead of using zram

the pi decided to randomly reboot again earlier while I was compiling stuff, not entirely sure what is going on here

I think power shouldn't be a problem, but I only really have like a few adapters that give enough current for the pi 4

@wolf480pl I guess for me since I use newer hardware, distros with older kernels like Debian tend to be a bit annoying to deal with, missing sensors and whatnot

Things settle down 6 months to a year after release, but LTS distros tend to be on 2 year cycles so it takes a while and by the time they release with a new enough kernel and desktop environment, I end up with something new that won't work on those once again

@wolf480pl admittedly it's mainly on more bleeding-edge distros like fedora where I wonder if a random bug I've been experiencing is fixed

@wolf480pl but I love seeing what new thing has popped up, even if it's probably nothing of importance

I do sometimes feel disoriented when I check for updates on Debian or Ubuntu, since as a mainly Fedora user I tend to expect to see a bunch of updates waiting for me, but I don't really see any most of the time

weird thing I've noticed about the ssd I'm using with my pi 4: it seems to forget "long" SMART tests, but not the "short" ones, after a poweroff and cold boot

instance administration @heather I kinda want to try running GTS on an old netbook (somewhat of a tradition for me to run fedi software on that thing)

It's nice seeing fedi software running on smaller systems, makes it more accessible to more people willing to run their own instance.

This instance is running Iceshrimp.NET, which is written in C#. Memory usage isn't too bad though it's more than GTS I think.
