ok seriously what would you ppl suggest to someone who is getting started in programming ? i need to help a friend . my thought are :
try c from basics , and if its overwhelming go with python (or lua ?)

in either case , does anyone have any good resources that rlly could help somebody with ZERO background ?

@fiore python is a great starting point in my opinion, it's easy to use and quick to run and test, and it is very capable if they want to try and do something like control a device or use the internet

Alternatively, basic C is a "classical" starting point but stuff like compilers might not be great for new people

Scratch would also be a maybe ok intro, but it's probably not the best because it's abstracted into blocks, but the concepts might be useful

@theking @fiore +1 for python

it has its warts, but it's a pretty good starting point and it's widely used (largely thanks to AI stuff)
